' I have actually found that books can transfer children to another location.' Judith has been volunteering as a bedside reader at Birmingham Women's and Children's NHS Foundation Trust because 2003. After retiring from mentor, Judith desired to continue to use her storytelling skills to assist kids who are badly. 'I had actually always enjoyed reading to the kids in school at the end of the day. You could see them visibly relax and be absorbed by the story. I believed this might also apply to kids in health center. I offer on the children's oncology wards in the healthcare facility. ' I tried to switch off a bedside lamp and seemed like something wasn't right with me. I understood quickly it was a stroke.' In July 2023, after an active holiday kayaking and walking, Bob suddenly had a stroke. He was zipped air ambulance to University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust, where he spent 4 weeks rehabilitating. 'I utilized the gym frequently and did neurorehabilitation online (NROL)'. NROL is a group rehabilitation program for individuals who have had a stroke or have other neurological conditions. 'I had a structured timetable which provided me something to look forward to each week - socially, psychologically and mentally.' Bob thanked NHS staff for 'the great support' and the continuous physiotherapy he received. Well done Bob and excellent work team! Early recognition of stroke symptoms can save lives. ' Working alongside nurses and seeing the difference they made inspired me to think, 'I might do that!" Meet Sharon, a sexual health nurse and non-medical prescriber who started her nursing journey in 1985 at the Royal Liverpool Teaching Hospital. In 2010 she joined Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust and continues to serve patients in Hertfordshire. 'I enjoyed helping people and finding out about the body, so nursing just felt right.' Sharon shows. Sharon has actually operated in male infertility, menopause, miscarriage and colposcopy among others, revealing the large range of locations in which nurses make a difference. 'Truly, I can't consider a location where nurses don't make an impact in some type,' Sharon admits. On why her function is special, Sharon discusses, 'The care, kindness, and empathy we bring make the nursing role unique. As client supporters, we assist ensure their journey is supported, notified, and truly meaningful.' There are more than 50 different types of nursing roles available in the NHS.
